Music for Merlin

26 April 2019 – Wadebridge Town Hall at 7.30pm

World renowned professional keyboard player Claudia Hirschfeld returns to Cornwall in April this year with special guest David Doering for an evening of music raising much needed funds for The Merlin Centre.

The Merlin MS Centre in Cornwall is celebrating its 10th Anniversary in 2019 of helping people in Cornwall and is delighted that the profits from this concert will be supporting its work for local people.

Claudia has not only performed successfully in Europe, but also in North and South America as well as the Arabian Peninsula and China, too.  She has also caused a sensation in many TV appearances. Besides her work as a solo artist Claudia Hirschfeld has made a name for herself as an “orchestra” for singers, choirs and instrumental soloists, working with world stars such as opera singers René Kollo or Eva Lind, the German trumpet legend Walter Scholz, the German Tenors or David Doering.

David grew up with music, learned the violin first, before he switched to the panpipe and acquired himself an unrivaled virtuosity. His YouTube videos have been clicked millions of times and have made him a star on his instrument around the world. No wonder that he has recently even been invited to perform in South Korea. David Doering also likes to break new ground as an artist, playing tunes with his panpipe that have never before been heard on such an instrument.

During her 2019 UK tour Claudia Hirschfeld and David Doering will present a program which contains a big variety of unforgettable music. The warm sound of the Wersi keyboard with all its facets merges with the magic of the panpipe and offers the audience a unique sound experience that invites to dream as well as to clap and sing along. The selection of songs will range from “The Lonely Shepherd”, “Ave Maria” and “You Raise Me Up” to “A Morning at Cornwall” or “Amazing Grace” plus some musical gifts from their home country Germany.
